One of the best Lancashire wedding venues, Eaves Hall is always a pleasure to shoot at thanks to its grand Georgian mansion house and gorgeous gardens.  When I was asked to help shoot the wedding of Laura and Andrew there I jumped at the chance.

This perfect country house wedding venue is set in the glorious Ribble Valley, and offers everything a discerning couple could ask for.  Stylish, luxurious and romantic, this Lancashire wedding venue really does have it all.

Groom preparation

On this occasion, I was following Andrew and his groomsmen in the morning while the super talented Tony Higginson was photographing the bride during her preparations at her parents’ house not far away. I found Andrew and his pals nursing hangovers to various degrees down in the coach house – another beautiful building on-site.  Andrew, it has to be said, was in fine form, looking sharp and excited for the big day ahead.

After spending some time shooting the boys in a documentary style, it was time to head to the main mansion house for the main event.  As the guests filed in and the nervous tension mounted, emotions were ready to burst when Laura made her entrance to the magnificent ceremony room.  She looked absolutely incredible as she made her way up the aisle and the tears in Andrew’s eyes said it all.

A perfect day

Laura and Andrew’s wedding was superb.  The couple were so relaxed and happy, and so clearly in love. And this wonderful vibe permeated throughout the whole day, for every guest.  The atmosphere was beautiful and joyful and fun, just like the couple themselves.  It really was a perfect day, and one that I loved to photograph.  These guys didn’t want lengthy, staged and contrived shots, and that suits me just perfectly.  I really enjoy taking a reportage approach instead, getting amongst the action to capture real moments and emotion, and memories to treasure forever.
