award winning image

News just in – I’m absolutely stoked to have picked up an award for my lineup of bridesmaids picture (see below) from the very excellent PKIR collective of documentary photographers.  Their latest round of award winners (Winter 2019) is truly incredible – so to be featured amongst them is a huge honour.  And while I’m having a humble brag (!), I should mention that I actually won TWO awards in that round.  You can see the other winning image in this blog here.

Anyway, back to the blog…

Thornton Manor Wedding Photographer

Being based in Manchester, it’s easy for me to get to gorgeous Cheshire wedding venues like this one.  So it was a real pleasure this time being the Thornton Manor Wedding Photographer alongside Hervé Gillet and videographer Ross Hart-Edwards.

Grand wedding venue

Thornton Manor is a stunning country house and a firm favourite of happy couples looking to tie the knot in exclusive, luxurious surrounds.  Set in exquisite grounds, this historic and enchanting stately home makes for an amazing wedding venue, and fabulous photographs. Good choice Rachael & Stuart.

Chasing the light

We’ve had such amazing, hot weather this summer which is great for outdoor photography.  However, with some rain in the air on this day, I was only too pleased to stay indoors for as long as we did.  The grandeur of Thornton Manor and its glorious windows provides for some brilliant opportunities for creative photography.  And I just loved capturing some beautiful moments indoors. Actually the rain wasn’t so serious, and in any case, it cleared up for just enough time for us to enjoy a perfect outdoor ceremony.  Rachael, her ten bridesmaids and three flower girls looked a picture as they filed in to adoring looks from the gathered guests.

Documentary wedding photographer

This fun-loving pair provided their happy guests with a photo booth, sweet counter, chocolate fountain, roulette wheel, bouncy castle, face painting, you name it!  And to cap it all off, a bouncing dance floor under the opulence of Thornton Manor’s grandest rooms.  I loved being able to shoot this wedding in a documentary style.

Massive congratulations to Rachael and Stuart. Thanks again for choosing me to shoot your day. Below is a small selection of some of my favourite images.
