I love a local wedding. Not just because of the travel benefits – don’t get me wrong though, I love to travel too of course – but there’s something satisfying about keeping it local, isn’t there? Sense of community, and all that? Which is why I was only too happy to photograph Claire and Martin’s big day just a short drive down the road from my house. Living in Prestwich means being a Bury Wedding Photographer couldn’t be more perfect!

All preparations for this happy day took place at the Bolholt Hotel, literally just a two-minute walk to the wedding venue. I arrived at Claire’s room nice and early to catch the girls easing their way into the day with fun and laughter. Similar story with Martin and the boys too. No sign of any wedding day stresses with this bunch. Just a great start to the day!

Lavender Hotels Wedding

The Stables Country Club is part of the Lavender Hotels Group and is one of Bury’s most popular event venues. Complete with a leisure centre and 3 stunning function rooms, situated close to Manchester and Liverpool, it’s not surprising that this is a top choice for a Bury wedding venue.

Autumn wedding pictures

Once they had tied the knot, I managed to get our happy couple outside between rain showers for a few minutes of ‘couple time’ amidst the glorious Autumn leaves and setting sun. I don’t spend time posing couples, contriving awkward postures or setting up fashion shoots! I like to take my couples for a quick walk somewhere pretty and look for real moments, real connections: furtive glances, sly smiles, knowing winks and romantic gestures. After all, you’ve got a party to get to and all those special family and friends to see. So it was with Claire and Martin – no pretence, all natural and all done in ten minutes. And don’t they look gorgeous!?
